Institutional investors — for a fee — will have quicker access to President Donald Trump’s Truth Social posts beginning Aug. 1, but experts worry the offering will erode market confidence and potentially expose firms to legal trouble.
The Trump Media & Technology Group Corp., of which the president owns 41% in a revocable trust, has announced a new business-to-business data feed that provides licensed, real-time access to posts from the highest-ranking Truth Social accounts — the social media platform controlled by Trump Media & Technology Group — which includes the president’s feed.
The July 16 announcement for Truth API did not detail how much the data feed service would cost, though Reuters reported it could be as much as $100,000 a month. It also did not specify how much more quickly paying customers would have access to Trump’s posts.
