Payday Super Hub
Supporting super funds navigate the transition to Payday Super.
On 1 July 2026, a major reform to a fundamental element of Australia’s superannuation system will come into effect: Payday Super.
This reform has been a long-standing priority for ASFA and represents a meaningful improvement to how Australians build their retirement savings throughout their working lives, strengthening retirement outcomes.
While there are several elements to this reform, the key feature is the requirement for employers to pay Superannuation Guarantee (SG) contributions on each employee’s payday, rather than ‘no less frequently than quarterly’. This requirement will help to improve the ability for members to monitor contributions.
ASFA has designed this central resource to help ASFA members, superannuation funds, trustees and their service providers to confidently navigate the transition to Payday Super and the supporting transaction ecosystem.
ASFA plays a key role in driving collaboration across the industry and with the ATO to deliver Payday Super. It has been facilitating cross-industry working groups to ensure implementation readiness, leading industry responses to the new requirements, and actively engaging in critical ATO working groups.
This Payday Super Hub reflects ASFA’s commitment to supporting a smooth, confident, sector-wide transition to Payday Super.
