AFSL Responsible Manager Program – Sydney

About this event

Half day workshop, followed by networking lunch.

Venue: Allens, Level 25, 33 Alfred Street, Sydney NSW 2000.

ASFA’s AFSL Responsible Manager Program, delivered by experts from Allens law firm, has been purpose-built for the superannuation industry to give Responsible Managers (RM’s) a clear understanding of their role and what’s required to meet their AFSL obligations. With a focus on real-world case studies, ASIC’s latest priorities, and recent regulatory changes, participants will gain the knowledge and skills to meet their RM obligations with confidence.

Key topics to be discussed include:

  • Superannuation Regulation and Licensing Framework – overview of legislation, AFS licence obligations, conduct and disclosure requirements, and organisational competence.
  • AFS Licence Authorisations and Compliance – understanding authorisations, maintaining compliance, and managing organisational responsibilities.
  • Role and Responsibilities of a Responsible Manager (RM) – core attributes, duties, required knowledge and skills, and how the RM role operates in practice.
  • Regulatory Accountability and Enforcement – ASIC expectations, consequences of non-compliance, and interactions with the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR).
  • Current Legal and Regulatory Landscape – recent and upcoming legislative reforms, enforcement trends, and key regulatory developments impacting superannuation.
