Rest announces appointment of two senior leaders
Rest has appointed two experienced leaders to help deliver critical aspects of the fund’s strategy to help simplify the experience for its members.
Kareene Koh has been appointed as General Manager, Strategy, and Florence La Carbona has joined as General Manager, Data and Insights.
Koh is responsible for leading Rest’s strategic planning and alignment across the fund. She has over 20 years of experience across industries including banking, financial services, media, broadcasting and telecommunications. She reports to Tyrone O’Neill, Chief Strategy and Corporate Affairs Officer.
La Carbona is responsible for strengthening Rest’s data management practices and enhancing both foundational and advanced data capabilities within the fund. She has more than 15 years’ experience in data-driven strategy and digital transformation at a range of financial services businesses. La Carbona reports to Jeremy Hubbard, Chief Technology and Data Officer.
NGS Super announces the appointment of a new independent chair and board member
NGS Super has announced the appointment of John Battams as Independent Chair and Brett Lazarides as Independent Director. These appointments follow a comprehensive recruitment process initiated earlier this year and are a result of the fund’s revised constitution, which now allows for the inclusion of independent directors.
Both Battams and Lazarides bring a wealth of experience to the board, having served on the boards of other industry super funds and financial institutions. Battams will assume the role of Independent Chair on 1 January 2025 following the retirement of current Chair Dr Geoff Newcombe AM. Lazarides will begin his term as Independent Director on 1 September 2024.
The NGS Super board expressed confidence in the new appointments, stating that their leadership and industry knowledge will add depth and new perspectives to the fund’s commitment to excellence in products, services, and support for its members.
