Superpartners CEO joins ASFA Board

The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter McNeil, chief executive officer of Superpartners, to its Board, effective 26 February 2013.

Mr McNeil has agreed to fill the vacancy for a service provider representative left by Peter Beck, who resigned his position as director in late 2012. During his tenure on the Board, Mr Beck was CEO of Pillar Administration.

ASFA Chair Tony Lally today welcomed Mr McNeil to the Board on behalf of ASFA.

“Peter’s deep industry knowledge and experience makes him an ideal addition to the Board at this critical time when SuperStream implementation and governance are such important industry-wide issues,” said Mr Lally.

“The Board would also like to take this opportunity to express their gratitude and thanks to Peter Beck, who was not only a deep contributor to strategy and governance issues but was also able to provide invaluable insight into the cost benefit analysis of policy positions due to his working knowledge of administration.

“This is such an important year for the super industry and for ASFA. The ASFA team under the guidance of CEO Pauline Vamos have an enormous workload delivering on the ASFA strategic plan.

“The game has changed and the ASFA Board has many challenges before it and I am confident that with the leadership both within ASFA and at the Board level we are able to meet those challenges,” said Mr Lally.
