Mental Health, Superannuation and System Sustainability Masterclass: Navigating the Next Wave of Claims – Sydney

About this event

Increasing claim complexity across intersecting systems is now a significant driver of superannuation insurance risk and cost.

Legislative reform, rising mental injury prevalence, and fragmented personal injury systems are reshaping member experience, cost structures and long-term scheme sustainability. For trustees, executives and senior leaders, the question is no longer if this will impact your fund, but how prepared you are to respond.

Join us for a 3-hour, face-to-face Masterclass drawing on insights and modelling from The Complexity Premium: cross-scheme pressures impacting claims in super, a white paper developed by EML in partnership with Monash University’s Healthy Working Lives Research Group.

This highly interactive session moves beyond problem definition to explore:

  • Where mental health risk is emerging across the super insurance ecosystem
  • What modelling and cross-scheme evidence tells us about system pressure points
  • How fragmented income support and personal injury systems amplify harm during member transitions
  • The governance and strategic levers funds can activate now
  • How leaders can influence a more coordinated, sustainable future.

Designed for senior executives, trustees and industry decision-makers, this Masterclass combines expert insight with facilitated executive discussion, practical case scenarios and system mapping exercises.

You’ll leave with greater clarity on the structural risks reshaping superannuation insurance, and the strategic choices available to you.
