Budget tax changes: second tranche exposure draft
The government has released the second tranche of exposure drafts of legislation and regulations to implement most of the remaining superannuation taxation reforms announced in the May 2016 Budget.
The package contains provisions to introduce or amend:
- the transfer balance cap
- concessional superannuation contributions
- catch-up concessional contributions
- innovative income streams and integrity measures
- anti-detriment provisions
- various administration provisions.
Submissions are due Monday 10 October.

New look ASFA website
We’re very excited to launch our new website. In building this new site, we have focused on making it easier for you to navigate and find what you are looking for, as well as register for events and courses.
As an ASFA member some of the new and improved features you will notice are:
Your ASFA account
The ASFA Toolbox area is now called ‘My Account’. You can log in to your ASFA account to update your contact details, manage your preferences, download your CPD report, access member-only content, register for events, enrol in courses and much more.
Login with your ASFA ID or your email address
We know that remembering your ASFA ID is hard, so we are excited to let you know that you can now log in to the ASFA website with either your ASFA ID or your email address.
If you have forgotten your password, simply click the link and it will be reset for you.
If you have any issues logging in or can’t remember either your ID or the email address on your record, please contact ASFA Member Services.
Tip: Tick ‘Remember me on this computer’ to make it even easier to log in next time.
Mobile friendly
Our new website is mobile friendly so that you can easily access content and register for events, discussion groups and courses on your mobile devices.
Manage your invoices
You can now access copies of invoices in your ASFA Account, as well as pay outstanding invoices online.
