About

ASFA has been operating since 1962 and is the peak policy, research and advocacy body for Australia’s superannuation industry.

Who is ASFA?

Australia has one of the largest retirement savings pool in the world, with superannuation assets worth over $3.5 trillion*.

The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) has been operating since 1962 and is the peak policy, research and advocacy body for Australia’s superannuation industry.

Our purpose is to work alongside government bodies and superannuation funds to achieve both good public policy and industry best practice. As a not-for-profit, we exist to ensure these translate into the best outcome for all retirees – our focus always leads back to fund members.

ASFA is apolitical, allowing us to work closely and credibly with politicians, regulators and the media.

Who joins ASFA?

ASFA represents the APRA regulated superannuation industry with members from corporate, industry, retail and public sector funds, and service providers. We don’t advocate one sector’s interests over another, rather we analyse the system as a whole and develop policy accordingly.
