ASFA launches new-look Super Guru website to help people get the most out of their super

The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) today relaunched the Super Guru website (www.superguru.com.au) in order to make it easier for people to understand and get the most out of their superannuation.

ASFA CEO Ms Pauline Vamos says the new site contains independent information, sourced from a variety of experts, and a wealth of tools and tips to help make managing and maximising superannuation easier.

“Fund CEOs have told us that member engagement is their top priority, however, at present, we know most people don't pay much attention to their super until they are getting close to retirement. At this stage, it's often too late, which is why people tend to end up with inadequate retirement savings.

“There's no doubt that the earlier you engage with your super, the more you will benefit from boosting your retirement savings. However, we know that people believe superannuation is complex, hard to understand and difficult to manage.

“The new Super Guru website provides a one-stop-shop for super information and is written in a way that is clear, simple and easy to understand.”

The site was re-designed in response to an analysis of the key super-related information Australians search for, in order to target it specifically to the community's needs, and includes:

  • new content, including information for people who are working casual or part-time hours, are self-employed, small business owners or super beneficiaries
  • new checklists to make finding and consolidating your super easier
  • a fresh, easy-to-navigate layout and a new-look design
  • calculators to help you figure out how much money you will need in retirement, budget tools and insurance calculators
  • hints and tips to help you maximise your super
  • FAQs covering all you need to know about your account.

"We all want to live a long, happy and hassle-free life in retirement and, with a bit of planning, you can achieve it. This is why we encourage people of all ages to check out the new Super Guru website and use the information to maximise their superannuation savings," Ms Vamos concluded.

You can view the site at: www.superguru.com.au.
