What’s ahead with the Royal Commission?

Sydney Breakfast Briefing: Wednesday 21 February

Info

The Royal Commission has indicated that it will initially focus on consumer lending practices, then move its attention to Wealth Management and Advice.

Its terms of reference indicate that in due course it will be looking into whether there are cases of superannuation funds spending in ways that do not meet community standards and expectations, or otherwise are not in the best interest of members.

Do you understand what community standards and expectations are in regard to superannuation? And particularly, what the Royal Commission will mean for you and your organisation?

Join us for an informative and comprehensive briefing which will explore the key aspects of the Royal Commission process covering:

  • Timing of the various stages of the Royal Commission, including when superannuation might be under the microscope
  • Who and what it will be focusing on
  • What not meeting community standards and expectations might be interpreted to mean
  • What you need to do to prepare
  • How to respond if you or your fund receives a request or subpoena from the Royal Commission

This event will feature Glen McCrea and Ross Clare from the ASFA policy team, together with Jim Bulling, Partner at K&L Gates and Sarah Hofman, Partner, Financial Services Regulation at PwC.
