As a mid-career, superannuation industry inductee, Kate joined QSuper’s Marketing team in April 2013 moving to the Product team in February 2016.
Prior to this, she had spent over 10 years leading one the nation’s largest loyalty programs Amcal Club. After relocating to Brisbane she launched the RewardsPlus loyalty program and e-commerce website for Terry White Chemists in her role as Digital and Loyalty Marketing Manager. Using data driven insights to drive better customer outcomes in the highly regulated pharmaceutical environment, set Kate up well for the transition into the equally regulated superannuation industry.
As the Accumulation Account Product Manager, Kate focuses on the strategic and tactical opportunities to improve the lives of QSuper members. Working as an subject matter expert across various projects from customer-based-design initiatives to the re-engineering of content, to make the complex – simple. This includes synthesizing the incredible work produced across the QSuper business into a cohesive narrative for the various ratings agencies.
Her take on working in the ever-changing super landscape, “One of my favourite places to focus, is the opportunity space that a hyper-legislative environment provides. Compliance is already a fund strength. This gives me the head-space to focus on the strategic opportunities such immense change can bring. To continually question, how does this convert into a member benefit or to make the fund stronger?” Kate started the STOIC group at QSuper that identifies Strategic Thoughts On Industry Change.
“My guiding philosophy in life is to live curiously, be courageous and think BIG. I was drawn to ASFA’s education program as so many of the world-class speakers were from outside the industry. The exponential growth in member engagement that the industry is seeking, will likely be driven by advances in skillsets outside of the traditional super fund remit. I invest in education around emerging trends and enjoy the process of curating content back to QSuper. This is driven more by passion than my PD and I am looking forward to bringing some of these insights to the ASFA Qld discussion group members.”
Kate is an Affiliate of ASFA; an Associate of FINSIA; certified in design-thinking and product management; has an Associate Diploma in Business – Marketing and is quite chuffed with her RG146.
