The ASFA Policy Roadshow is the superannuation industry’s leading policy event. An industry institution for more than two decades, this year we’ll be mixing things up a bit.

Our policy team will be joined on stage by regulator representatives from either the ATO, ASIC and/or APRA for insightful, in-depth policy and regulatory discussions surrounding:

  • the changing workforce and whether super, as we know it, will remain fit for purpose
  • whether automatic opt out models for insurance in super will continue in the future
  • Budget 2017 – do we have a super solution for housing affordability?
  • how Single Touch Payroll and Fund Reporting will impact funds
  • retirement income policy and how CIPRs might work
  • how member complaints and disputes will be handled as we transition away from the current SCT framework.
  • strategic planning and fund viability.

Regulator speakers confirmed:

  • Maan Beydoun, Senior Manager, Investment Management and Superannuation, ASIC (Canberra and Sydney)
  • James Champion, Analyst, Investment Managers and Superannuation, ASIC (Hobart)
  • Paul Eastment, Senior Manager, The Investment Managers and Superannuation Stakeholder Team, ASIC (Brisbane)
  • Alex Purvis, Senior Manager, Investment Managers and Superannuation, ASIC (Perth and Melbourne)
  • Gerry Brophy, Senior Manager, Supervision, Specialised Institutions Division – Sydney, APRA (Brisbane)
  • Carolyn Morris, Senior Manager – Superannuation Policy, APRA (Sydney and Melbourne)
  • Helen Rowell, Deputy Chairman,  APRA (Canberra)
  • James O’Halloran, Deputy Commissioner – Superannuation, ATO (Adelaide, Perth, Sydney and Melbourne)
