The ASFA Secretariat and members of the ASFA Tax Specialist Advisory Committee recently met with the ATO in relation to proposed guidance that will impact the tax governance controls superannuation funds are expected to have in place over data obtained from third parties that is used for tax purposes. ASFA, along with representatives from the Australian Custodial Services Association and the Financial Services Council, walked the ATO through feedback we provided jointly on the ATO’s draft guidance note, as the final step in a long-running consultation process.
