Nicola Roxon was appointed Chair of the HESTA Board of Directors on 1 January 2019, having held other board roles for the last eight years. Past roles include Chair of Cancer Council Australia and Chair of Bupa (Australia and New Zealand). Her expertise lies in highly regulated industries, government, health and the not-for-profit sector.
Nicola’s other current Non-Executive Director roles are at listed property businesses Dexus and Lifestyle Communities.
Prior to these roles, Nicola was a Labor politician and served as Australia’s first female Attorney-General. She was Minister for Health and Ageing from 2007-2011. She maintains her close interest in the health sector and is a passionate advocate for women.
Nicola is a lawyer by training and holds a Bachelor of Arts/Law LLB (Hons) from the University of Melbourne.
