Sarah O’Brien is a financial services professional with an extensive career spanning retail banking, managed funds and superannuation, with a strong focus on regulatory matters, including many regulatory reform programs. She is passionate about industry consultation with government and regulators, operational efficiency in the superannuation industry, and innovation and technology application in financial services.

Sarah was appointed the Executive Officer of the Gateway Network Governance Body Limited in October 2016, having been engaged for the previous six months to establish and commence operation of the new self-regulatory body for the Superannuation Transaction Network (STN). She came to this role from Commonwealth Bank of Australia having most recently been the Executive Manager, Advocacy and Operational Change, and the project sponsor of the SuperStream program. She has been involved in SuperStream since the Cooper Review, and active in policy development, industry consultation and implementation throughout. To these recent roles, Sarah brings experience in regulatory change and industry advocacy, with a strong operational background.
