About

If you are a trustee or work in a compliance or trustee services role, ASFA’s Trustee InFocus offers you an unparalleled learning and networking experience.

Held quarterly, the Trustee InFocus series focuses on the pertinent issues. Leading minds from within the industry and regulators drill down during each seminar to provide attendees with a thorough understanding of the topic and implications for your fund and board.

Trustee InFocus is all about the ‘how-to’ when confronting issues:

  • questions to ask,
  • signs to look for,
  • processes to undertake,
  • duties and obligations.

Trustee InFocus gives you the tools to become empowered and confident to tackle the issues.

To maximise the learning experience, attendees at each seminar receive the Quarterly Trustee InFocus Paper as a takeaway tool. There is also further opportunity to reinforce the learning outcomes from each seminar by undertaking an online quiz based on the content of each quarterly paper.

Trustee InFocus offers an ideal forum for networking with industry colleagues. Seminars provide you with ample opportunity to ask questions of our expert presenters and meet with others facing similar issues.

Finally, Trustee InFocus is an excellent way of earning CPD points. Attendees automatically earn two points and can earn up to 32 points annually through subscribing to our online quizzes. Head to the Earning CPD section to find out more.

Background

The Trustee InFocus series was designed to assist trustees and those in a compliance or trustee services role. It builds on the success of the acclaimed ‘Deacons* on Financial & Investment Services’ seminars and ASFA’s own trustee training and events.

The series premiered in August 2009 to strong interest in both Sydney and Melbourne, tackling the issue of liquidity management. As demand for the series grew, a further session in Perth was added to the program for the second and subsequent seminars.

Significantly, from the second seminar the Quarterly Trustee InFocus Paper was provided electronically, making it more portable and environmentally friendly.

*On 1 January 2010, Deacons Australia joined Norton Rose Group and is now known as Norton Rose Australia. The partnership with ASFA remains unaffected by this change and ASFA is proud to present the Trustee InFocus series in conjunction with Norton Rose Australia.
