Participate in developing an industry response to the Cooper Review's efficiency debate

The success of ASFA’s initial Thinktank Thought Leadership Series as a forum for generating discussion among the industry’s CEOs/Heads of Business has seen it be introduced as an ASFA 2009 pre-event.
A key brief for Jeremy Cooper and his panel has been to consult with the industry. ASFA has offered its Thinktank forum as a way in which the panel can access the industry and consult with them on the operation and efficiency debate.
This invitation only forum is an opportunity for CEOs to provide thoughts and feedback in response to the Phase Two: Operations & Efficiency Issues Paper that will be issued on 16 October 2009, prior to the conference.
Small groups will workshop together responses to key aspects and questions related to the operations and efficiency part of the review.
Cooper Review panel member Brian Wilson will be in attendance to respond to our discussions and consult with us on aspects of the review.

Background on the Thinktank Thought Leadership Series
In June 2009, ASFA CEO Pauline Vamos hosted the Thinktank – face-to-face discussions across the country with our industry’s CEOs/Heads of Business.
With the objective of demonstrating that the industry is proactively addressing the changed environment, the six meeting series was well received and proved to be an exceptional forum for sharing thoughts and ideas.
Consolidated feedback taken from these sessions assisted ASFA in:
- Preparing our response to the Henry panel on its interim report (run through ASFA's Retirement Outcomes sub-committee)
- Deciding how to influence the agenda for the Cooper Review, and guiding our engagement with and response to the Cooper review panel.
