Those who have been awarded the status of ASFA Associate or Fellow must maintain this designation.

Continuing Professional Development

‘Life long learning’ underpins professionalism. It is critical in any industry participating in the knowledge economy and especially in one subject to the level of change as superannuation.

Therefore a formal Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirement ensures that participants maintain professional currency, increases our standing within our profession and ensures that the profession is supported in our activities via the development, dissemination and advancement of professional knowledge.

A minimum of 30 points of CPD must be completed each year. At least 15 points (half the minimum) must be completed through ASFA activities.

At the conclusion of each financial year, an annual report of CPD points is emailed to all members.

An audit process for Fellows and Associates will be undertaken to ensure compliance with the minimum standard. This process allows members to show evidence of external CPD points completed.

For further details go to our Earning CPD section.

Membership of ASFA

An Associate or Fellow must continue to be a financial member of ASFA either by employment with a member organisation or through individual membership.
