ASFA welcomes new Shadow Minister for Financial Services and Superannuation

The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) congratulates Dr Jim Chalmers MP on his appointment to the position of Shadow Minister for Financial Services and Superannuation.

“The next few months will be a busy and important time for superannuation,” said ASFA CEO Pauline Vamos.

“Dr Chalmers will be served well by his previous experience as Shadow Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition, Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Trade and Investment, and deputy chair of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Tax and Revenue.

“I am looking forward to working with Dr Chalmers over the coming months.

“ASFA would also like to thank outgoing Shadow Minister the Hon Bernie Ripoll MP for his contributions to the financial services and superannuation portfolio to date, particularly through his work on the Future of Financial Advice (FoFA) reforms, and wish him all the best for his political retirement,” concluded Ms Vamos.

ASFA is the peak policy, research and advocacy body for Australia’s superannuation industry. It is a not-for-profit, sector-neutral, and non-party political national organisation, which aims to advance effective retirement outcomes for members of funds through research, advocacy and the development of policy and industry best practice.
