prospective normal retirement benefit
Definition
abbrev. PNRB, the benefit at the age a person would have retired (without injury/death), assuming that current salary would have continued unchanged to that time. Death and disablement benefits for members of a defined benefit plan are often calculated assuming that the member has continued on in the fund to normal retirement age — that the ill-health or injury has not occurred.
