exit fee

a charge which may be levied when assets are withdrawn from a superannuation entity or RSA. Exit fees are often introduced to discourage investors from moving their funds around frequently and for short periods. Exit fees vary substantially in the funds which are available in the public market-place. Also called redemption fees.
