Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees
Definition
abbrev. AIST, a body established in 1992 to promote and support trustees of superannuation funds, with particular interest in industry funds. Founded by the Conference of Major Superannuation Funds (CMSF), the AIST runs information programs and develops and examines policies in regard to superannuation, as well as carrying out other activities which support the role of trustees.
In January 2007 AIST commenced operating as a new entity that consolidated work previously undertaken by CMSF, the IFS Compliance and Licensing Department and the pre-existing AIST organisation.
