Pauline Vamos – Bio
Pauline is the Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA), a qualified lawyer and an Associate of the Australian Compliance Institute. She joined ASFA in September 2007, bringing over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry to the role. Pauline is recognised as a leading voice in Australia, and throughout the Asia-Pacific region, on pension issues.
Pauline has been a regulator, corporate counsel, head of compliance and a strategic risk and compliance consultant as well as a Trustee Director. Pauline is also a member of the Federal Government’s Superannuation Advisory Committee and the Responsible Investment Academy Advisory Council.

Lorraine Berends BSc, FIAA, FASFA, MAICD

Lorraine Berends – Bio
Lorraine joined Marvin & Palmer Associates, a U.S. based global equity manager, in May 2000 and is responsible for growing Marvin & Palmer’s business throughout Asia. She has worked for over 30 years in the pension and investment industry.
Lorraine served on the Board of ASFA for 12 years including 3 years as Chair. She is Chair of the Investment Management Consultants Association, having joined the Board in 2001. Lorraine is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia, a Fellow of ASFA, a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a BSc from Monash University, Melbourne.

Greg Healy FASFA

Greg Healy – Bio
Greg Healy has been in the financial services industry for 26 years managing businesses in financial planning, product development and corporate superannuation. Greg is currently based in Singapore where he is Managing Director of AMP Asian Business focussing on the pension market (Enterprise Annuity) in China and is responsible for developing asset management opportunities for AMP Capital Investors in India. Pension reform is also starting to emerge in India as well which will lead to opportunities for foreign asset managers such as AMP.
Greg headed AMP's Corporate Pension business in Australia for 10 years ( through to 2009), leading the transformation of the master trust corporate offer for all segments of the market in Australia. He is a former Chairman of ASFA (2009) and was a Board Director for 9 years before relocating and working in Asia. Greg is a Fellow of ASFA, Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

David Thomas

David Thomas – Bio
David Thomas is well known in the Asia Pacific region for his experience, credibility and passion for identifying, building and facilitating business and investment relationships between developed and emerging countries. His unique experience and powerful networks have accumulated over a 30 year career in London, Hong Kong and Sydney. He managed his own financial services business in Hong Kong for 8 years (1987 - 1995) which provided unique insights and first hand experience of the changing landscape within the Asia Pacific region, particularly the opening up of China, the rise of Japan and the Asian tigers, and the emergence of India. More recently, his influence and activities have extended to Latin America and Eastern Europe driven by his interest and passion for the economic potential and growing influence of the four "BRIC countries" (Brazil, Russia, India and China).
As well as working with companies within many industry sectors (e.g. retail, professional services, manufacturing, food, education, publishing, design and technology) David continues to support financial services companies seeking to expand their global footprint, leveraging business and investment networks throughout the region, leading an annual mission to the Asian Financial Forum in Hong Kong, and as the Chairman of the Australasian Financial Forum in Australia.

Ross Clare FASFA

Ross Clare – Bio
Ross Clare has degrees in Economics and Law from the Australian National University. Prior to joining the staff of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) he held senior positions with the Australian Treasury and an Australian Government research agency.
Ross, as Director of Research at ASFA, has over the last decade or so, prepared a wide range of research papers and contributed to submissions across a range of superannuation (pension fund) and retirement income issues. He is an expert on the structure and operation of the Australian superannuation and retirement incomes systems. He is also active in the international community of researchers who study pension and superannuation systems.
His articles and research have been widely quoted by government, industry and academic researchers and policymakers.

David Graus – Bio
David Graus is the General Manager of Policy at The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA).
A qualified lawyer, David has more than 23 years experience in the financial services industry, a significant proportion of which has been spent in superannuation.
Before joining ASFA in March 2009 David was General Counsel at Skandia/Intech, responsible for all legal and governance matters.
Prior to that David held senior legal positions at ipac Securities, ASIC, GIO Financial Services and Westpac Financial Services.
