GENERAL
Who is ASFA?
The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia (ASFA) is a national, not for profit, non-party political organisation that represents the interests of Australia’s superannuation funds, their trustees and their members.
ASFA’s membership covers industry, corporate, public sector and retail funds as well as service providers and individual members. Our membership collectively represent approximately 80 percent of members holding superannuation accounts and about 80 percent of total Australian superannuation assets.
ASFA’s mission is to advance effective retirement outcomes for members of funds through research and advocacy.

How do I become a member of ASFA?

How many Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points does the forum attract?
The forum attracts 6 CPD points for members of the ASFA Professional Accreditation Program. The number of CPD points is determined by the number of hours the delegate accumulates over conference. Find out more about the ASFA Professional Accreditation Program.

When does the early bird discount registration fee close?
Early bird registration closes 15 June 2011. Standard registration rates apply after this date.

I have special dietary needs, how can these be met?
Please fill in the Special Requirements section on the registration form when you register and ASFA will ensure that special meals are prepared. You will be notified of the collection point when you arrive at the forum. Please ensure ASFA is notified at least four weeks prior to the forum.

Can I attend just one session of the forum?
Registration cannot be purchased for part attendance of the forum or for multiple parties to share.

I don’t want to attend the inclusive networking function; do I get a refund?
Sorry no – Refunds are not given for the networking function as it is included in the overall package of the registration fee.

What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be received in writing.
Cancellations received after 25 July 2011 do not receive a refund.
Substitutions are welcome at any time without charge.

How do I obtain a tax invoice?
All attendees will be emailed a tax invoice once their registration has been processed.

What public transport is available?
Hong Kong is geographically compact and boasts one of the world's most efficient, safe, affordable and frequent public transport systems. Whether by taxi, ferry, rail, bus or tram, you can get around easily and catch wonderful glimpses of the city along the way.

Ferries and trams

Is transport provided to/from the airport and Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong?
Sorry no. Due to delegates arriving at different times from various destinations delegates are required to make their own way to/from the airport to the forum venue. However there are plenty of services to choose from.

How far is Hong Kong International Airport from the Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong?
Hong Kong International Airport is approximately 30 minutes from the Island Shangri-La and a taxi will cost approximately HK$450.

Is there a preferred travel agent for the conference?
No.

Is there an official airline for the conference?
No. Please organise your travel with your corporate travel agent or contact the airlines direct for bookings.

Do I need travel insurance?
Travel insurance is recommended.

PASSPORTS & VISAS
Do I need a passport for travelling to Hong Kong?
Yes, your passport must be:
- Valid for at least six months beyond your intended departure date
- Not damaged, defaced or excessively worn
- Showing a visa or permit, if you require one (for those non-Australian residents)

Do I need a visa for entry into Hong Kong?
Most visitors who intend to stay for less than three months do not require a visa. This includes citizens & residents of the US, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. UK nationals are able to stay for up to 6 months without a visa or entry permit.

What is the dress code for the forum?
Business attire. We suggest you bring a jacket to all sessions for your comfort, as room temperatures may vary.

What time is check in/out and can I check in early or depart late?
The standard check in time is 2.00pm onwards and check out is 12.00pm. If you require your room outside these times, please advise Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong and they will do their best to meet your request. In the absence of such advice being received the hotel may charge a fee equal to one day’s tariff.

What will the climate be like in September?
September is one of the best months to visit Hong Kong. Average temperatures range from 25°C to 30°C, with humidity substantially lower than in the summer months. Rain is also easing during September.

Yes, ATMs can be easily found in most places around Hong Kong, and provide 24-hour cash withdrawal.

A service charge of 10% is added to restaurant and hotel bills. Additional tipping is optional.
