What public transport is available?
A comprehensive network of trains, buses and city cats (ferries) link the Centre with Brisbane city and suburbs:

Bus
The Cultural Centre is the main hub for most bus routes, only a few minutes walk away from BCEC, adjacent to the Queensland Performing Acts Centre. A Free Loop downtown bus service circles Brisbane’s Central Business District only.

Trains
The closest train station is South Brisbane; only a few minutes walk away.

Taxis
A dedicated taxi rank is positioned at the main entrance to BCEC. Additional ranks exist in South Bank in close proximity.

The City Cat terminal is located outside the riverside restaurants on the Clem Jones Promenade. City Cats run daily from 5.30am-10.30pm.

No, delegates are required to make their own way to/from the airport to the convention centre. However there are plenty of services to choose from.

What transport is available from the airport to Brisbane’s Central Business District?
Brisbane Airport provides a choice of transport modes to and from the airport. These include trains, taxis and buses.

Where can I store my luggage on the last day?
Your hotel will store your luggage, however storage facilities will be available on the final conference day for delegates leaving straight from the convention centre after the gala lunch.

Brisbane Airport is located approximately 13kms from Brisbane's CBD. The journey between the airport and the CBD is roughly 20 minutes, although it can be longer during peak traffic periods.

If I hire a car, what are the driving directions from Brisbane airport to Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre?

  • When leaving either the Domestic or International Terminals, follow the signs to 'City'
  • Follow Airport Drive to the Gateway Motorway Roundabout
  • Turn left onto the Gateway Motorway and follow the road to the 'Links Avenue' off ramp
  • Follow 'Links Avenue' and turn left onto 'Kingsford Smith Drive'
  • Follow 'Kingsford Smith Drive' into the Brisbane CBD
  • Total travel time to the Brisbane CBD is approximately 20 minutes
